O’Donnell Named Non-ITU Athlete of the Year
2/08/2010Maxxis’ sponsored triathlete Tim O’Donnell has won one of his sport’s highest honors. O’Donnell was named Non-International Triathlete Union (ITU) Athlete of the Year for 2009 by USA Triathlon’s Athlete Advisory Council.
In comments to Examiner.com, O’Donnell said that he was thrilled by the award: "Being named USAT's Non-ITU Athlete of the Year is not only a great honor but an unbelievable way to end a surreal season. Having last year's hard work and success recognized by my peers is not only a privilege but a great pleasure!” O’Donnell won the ITU Long Course World Championships in 2009, his first year as a full-time pro triathlete.
